STAINLESS STEEL MATERIALS

Duplex Stainless Steel

Compare duplex grades when strength and corrosion requirements both influence your component specification. Share the operating environment and fabrication plan so the grade, delivery condition and inspection requirements can be considered together.

Grade Directory

Open a grade to compare its characteristics, uses and processing needs. Choose a product within that entry to carry the grade into your specification.

Grade Characteristics & Selection

2205Duplex grade combining strength and corrosion resistance

Material Characteristics

2205 has a duplex microstructure and is selected for a combination of strength and corrosion resistance.

Typical Uses

Common uses include process vessels, water-treatment equipment and fabricated structural components.

Processing and Delivery

Specify the service medium, required product form and welding or heat-treatment controls. Forming loads and the finished joint condition should be included in fabrication planning.

Comparing Grades

2205 differs from austenitic 316L in fabrication behaviour. It is also distinct from lean-duplex 2304 and super-duplex 2507.

2304Lean-duplex option for strength-led fabrication

Material Characteristics

2304 is a lean-duplex stainless steel considered where strength and corrosion resistance need to be balanced.

Typical Uses

Typical uses include structural fabrications, storage equipment and selected water-handling components.

Processing and Delivery

Describe the exposure, section geometry and welding plan. Specify the material condition and inspection needed for the intended fabrication.

Comparing Grades

2304 is not a lower-cost label for any duplex requirement. Compare its corrosion duties with 2205 rather than substituting by family name.

2507Super-duplex grade for demanding chloride exposure

Material Characteristics

2507 is a super-duplex grade used where localized-corrosion resistance and strength are major selection factors.

Typical Uses

It is considered for seawater systems, offshore equipment and demanding process components.

Processing and Delivery

Give the actual fluid, exposure and design requirements. Welding, heat treatment and inspection need to be addressed with the fabrication route.

Comparing Grades

2507 is distinct from standard duplex 2205. Its selection involves fabrication controls as well as the service-corrosion requirement.

Delivery Condition and Purchasing Requirements

The part dimensions, finish and planned forming or welding help define your duplex material enquiry.

Send the product standard, tolerances and inspection documents required by your project. We review the grade and product-form combination together with the delivery condition.

Contact Sales

Send your project specification or component drawing, with any known grade, form, dimensions, condition and quantity. Include the destination and required documents where available.
